I am glad to announce the Google Wave version of Ugolki!

As well as new standalone version.Added basic navigation menu panel with better structured information. Also significant user interface improvement.

I made some cosmetically fixes, so the site along with game is bit prettier now.

Fixed. I also going to put some more info on the site itself.

There's problem again, the archive with Java applet cannot be found on server, i ll fix it as soon as i ll get home.

There's problem with the game, it affects machines running Windows (but it works OK on my Ubuntu Linux). I am working on it, sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi there

This blog is dedicated to my favorite game - Ugolki(it means "corners" in Russian).It is a board game, sort of simplified version of Chinese checkers. The beauty of this game that it has very simple rules but allows enough depth for strategical challenge. It's also easy going and usually takes only about 5 minutes per game.

I decided to create one and put on the web - for free - so try it on http://ugolki.appspot.com .

The interface is intuitive, when you click on a piece, all possible moves are highlighted.

In short - the rules are like this :

Red player moves first.

A move can be to adjacent square (top, bottom, left,right) or a jump over piece of either player.

Whoever moves all his pieces to the starting positing of the opposite player(i.e. to the opposite corner - hence the name Ugolki - Corners) wins!
